Re: BL's post, Nature vs. Nurture
i've hit a point in my life where i can honestly say 2 things on the subject
1) I don't care why i'm gay; i just am.
2) Whether the reason i'm gay is a domineering/overly affectionate mother, a quasi-absent/affection-withholding father; repeated exposure to Paul Lynde in Bewitched, Wonder Woman, Barbra's a Christmas Album, Bert and Ernie, or Sesame Street's disco 8 track (Sesame Street Fever), at an early age; too much pink Strawberry flavored Quik in my milk; or being born during a full moon, on a Saturday, on the cusp...
thanks mom.
thanks dad.
thanks Paul.
thanks Barbra.
thanks Wonder Woman.
thanks Bert and Ernie,
thanks Disco Grover
thanks Bunny.
i'm glad; being gay is, without a doubt, the single luckiest opportunity i was ever "given". it has afforded me the chance to meet the most wonderful, caring, fabulous, fun, funny, and loving people imaginable. it has helped me forge relationships that would have been denied to me had i been born any other way. while not the most important part of my personality, it is certainly an integral one.
thanks again, to all the above; though i am quite sure i could've done it without you, thanks for any help you may have given.

Testify Sistah!
Amen.
Great Post! Maybe we should all post an "I'm Gay and Happy about it no matter what" post. Something to inspire those struggling with the fear of coming out and to educate the nay-sayers that gay and happy are not mutually exclusive.
I agree - whatever it was that made me this way, praise be that it did. That's not to say it's always been easy...
Besides, how many straight guys get to suck lollipops suggestively at an after-hours mandatory internet class....;-)
it wasn't suggestively! i was just suckin'!
I'm not much of an overthinker when it comes to these sorts of things. I don't really care about the who, what, when, where, why thing. I just am. It's just me. And that feels good. No further ado.
Yeah right, 'it wasn't suggestively'...
I bet you made eye contact with them then pushed the lollipop in a little further....ha ha
Great post! Some people go their entire life never finding peace with who they are and what is - it is a wonderful gift and even better when you can find some humor in it! The Bert & Ernie stuff was hysterical :)
What a great way of looking at it - and true to boot :-)
