As Seen On My Starbucks Cup...

"Hold the door for somebody laden with packages. Serve hot chocolate and coffee to passing carolers. Pay the toll for the car behind you. Or do something nice for somebody you don't even know. When you pass the cheer through the little moments like this, you create warmth that outshines the brightest holiday lights".

in 31 years, i've never seen a caroler.
do they have them outside New York? is that really something that people do; walk around the neighborhood singing Christmas carols? i think they'd be stoned in Brooklyn (and i don't mean "stoned", like "don't bogart that 'yule log', man").

Having grown up in the country and all(long island) I have actually been caroling. I was proably in fifth grade, about 12 years old i suppose. It was as horrible as it sounds, and sounded as horrible as it was.

There are carolers in Brooklyn. Churches get groups together and do it very year. Usually they have a list of specific stops, like old people's houses or sick parish members. Probably no one would ever knock on your door and start carolling out of no where out of fear of being shot or kidnapped.
