we join a business phone call, somewhere in the middle, after the usual exchange of pleasantries.
San Francisco Sales Assistant: ...please excuse the (classical) music in the background. that's my son...i'm working from home today.
CawfeeGuy: oh ok...lucky you.
SFSA: yeah, but this Baby Einstein tape is killing me.
CG: yeah, i'd imagine.
work discussion continues till SFSA unexpectedly shouts
SFSA (to son): no! put that down....DOWN!
CG laughs
SFSA (to CG): i'm very sorry about that.
CG (chuckles): it's fine...really.
SFSA: how old are you? are you married? do you have kids?
CG: 32...yes...no kids.
SFSA: oh...don't worry you've still got time, they'll come.
CG: um...i doubt it. my husband and i discussed it and decided on a Yorkie instead.
SFSA (laughs heartily): that was a great decision....very sound.
CG: that's what we thought.
SFSA: i gotta tellya though...you've got the best form of birth control!

Oh, I'm all business at work. I don't care for meetings and I want to get back to what needs to be done. My meetings are prompt, time sensitive and to the point.
And I don't care for children at work, whether IN the office or on the phone. I detest it.
Out of the office I'm a much different person.
I do see the humor in the conversation but neh, not for me.
CG - I'll pick you up a yorkie and drop it in the mail if you like...
